Rick Leveridge has been practicing law for 32 years. His practice has encompassed cases involving a wide range of subject matters, including cases related to the agribusiness, corrugated paper, chemical, computer, credit card, banking, energy, and construction industries. He has represented clients in federal and state courts throughout the country. In the last 10 years, Rick and his litigation teams have recovered more than $3 billion for clients.

Areas of Concentration

Rick focuses his practice on serving corporate clients who suffered business injuries as a result of illegal price-fixing cartels in the United States and abroad. Notable cases where Rick took a lead position on behalf of our corporate clients include: In re Citric Acid; In re Vitamins; In re Linerboard; In re Urethanes Antitrust Litigation; Federal Home Loan Mortgage v. Bank of America, et al. (LIBOR). Rick’s antitrust experience also includes a defense-side practice.

Rick is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia, State of New York, and numerous federal district and appellate courts. He has represented clients throughout the country in federal and state courts in Alabama, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Texas, and the District of Columbia.

Representative Matters

  • In re Urethanes: Lead counsel for the direct action plaintiffs in In re Urethanes, in which he represents 11 clients who were the major purchasers of polyurethane chemicals against manufacturers accused of conspiring to fix the price of the chemicals from 1994 to 2003.
  • In re Linerboard: Represented Procter & Gamble, Anheuser-Busch, Coke, PepsiCo, and other large purchasers of corrugated material against linerboard manufacturers accused of participating in a conspiracy to restrict supply and increase prices of linerboard and corrugated products. He led a team of more than 20 lawyers and professional staff and served as liaison counsel on behalf of the other direct-action plaintiffs in the litigation, which resulted in substantial recoveries for the firm’s client group.
  • In re Vitamins: From 1999 to 2004, in In re Vitamins, served as lead counsel for a client group including Tyson Foods, GNC, Kraft Foods, and more than 125 other large purchasers of bulk vitamins in a variety of industries in litigation against vitamin manufacturers accused of participating in a global price-fixing cartel. In this capacity, led a team of more than 30 lawyers and professional staff, and served as liaison counsel on behalf of more than 60 other direct-action plaintiffs in the litigation. That representation resulted in significant recoveries for the firm’s client group.
  • In re Citric Acid: Successfully represented Procter & Gamble, Quaker Oats, and other purchasers of citric acid in an antitrust action against Archer Daniels Midland and other manufacturers.
  • American Express v. Visa: Served as counsel for Visa International, Inc. in defending cases brought by American Express and Discover for alleged antitrust violations arising from Visa's loyalty rules.
